Peugeot Completes Triple Swoop at What Van? Awards 2021

The Peugeot e-Expert electric van has been racking up awards since its introduction in May this year, with the latest being the ‘Van of the Year’ and ‘Electric Van of the Year’ awards at the What Van? Awards 2021. Groupe PSA sister models, the Citroën e-Dispatch and Vauxhall Vivaro-e, also received the same accolade.

The e-Expert wasn’t the only Peugeot van to emerge victorious at the virtual ceremony as the Partner also bagged the ‘Compact Van of the Year’ award to complete the French automaker’s astonishing triple swoop.

PRESS RELEASE

The new PEUGEOT e-Expert van has been named ‘Van of the Year’ as well as ‘Electric Van of the Year’ at the What Van? Awards 2021. This is the latest in a series of wins for the new, full electric e-Expert, while the PEUGEOT Partner van was also awarded the ‘Compact Van of the Year’ award at the virtual ceremony.

The What Van? ‘Van of the Year’ and ‘Electric Van of the Year’ awards have been presented to the new PEUGEOT e-Expert alongside its sister Groupe PSA LCV models, the Citroën e-Dispatch and Vauxhall Vivaro-e. This is the latest in a series of wins for the new PEUGEOT e-Expert, including recognition as the ‘Best Electrified Van’ at the 2021 Parkers New Car Awards in October.

The new PEUGEOT e-Expert was not the only model in the brand’s LCV range to score highly with the What Van? judges. The PEUGEOT Partner Van was also awarded the Compact Van of the Year prize alongside the Citroën Berlingo, Vauxhall Combo and Toyota Proace City.

James Dallas, Editor of What Van? said: “The PEUGEOT e-Expert is stylish, sophisticated and practical and has placed PEUGEOT in the group of brands leading the charge towards the widespread adoption of electric technology. A choice of 50kWh and 75kWh battery packs, offering ranges of 143 miles and 205 miles respectively on the WLTP cycle, with the ability to charge to 80% within 30 minutes, will meet the requirements of many customers and coupled with uncompromised load space volume and a wide choice of models, the e-Expert answers a lot of the questions potential customers will ask.”

The new PEUGEOT e-Expert, which was unveiled earlier in the year, is PEUGEOT’s latest full electric vehicle. PEUGEOT will offer a full electric variant across all its Light Commercial Vehicles by the end of 2021. With a range of up to 205 miles from a single charge, the PEUGEOT e-Expert is available with either a 50kWh or a 75kWh battery and features a 100kW (136hp) electric motor. Supporting up to 100kW rapid charging, the PEUGEOT e-Expert can receive 80% charge in just 30 minutes. The e-Expert comes with up to 6.6m3 of load space and a maximum payload of 1,226kg.

David Peel, Managing Director of PEUGEOT UK, said: “The PEUGEOT LCV range is on a winning streak and we’re delighted to add the trio of What Van? awards to the cabinet. Our mix of practicality, comfort and efficiency is proving to be a great hit with customers and industry experts. It is always great to see any of our models receive such high praise, but for our first electric van offering to be named What Van? Van of the Year is a particularly humbling achievement.”

The multi award-winning PEUGEOT Partner van now includes Rear Parking Sensors as standard on all trim levels and features the innovative PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® with a head-up display and compact steering wheel, DAB radio, remote central locking with deadlocks, automatic headlights and daylight running lights. With four trim options to choose from – S, Grip, Professional and Asphalt – the PEUGEOT Partner comes with an excellent 1,009kg maximum payload and up to 4.4m3 load volume.

The new PEUGEOT e-Expert is now available to order online and customers can purchase the PEUGEOT Partner at Retailers and via PEUGEOT Buy Online.
