The Ducati XDiavel model range has been updated for 2021 with the addition of two new versions called Dark and Black Star. Not only that, the Testastretta DVT 1262 engine is now Euro 5 compliant thanks to a host of modifications.
XDiavel Dark
Befitting its name, the XDiavel Dark features an all-black theme which extends to its mechanical components, which include Carbon Black frame, matte black wheels, as well as black anodised side frame plates and radiator covers. On this version, the backrest and passenger comfort seat are left out but customers can still opt for these items, which are part of the Ducati Performance accessories catalogue.
XDiavel Black Star
On the other hand, the XDiavel Black Star takes inspiration from sports cars with an alternating grey and matte black livery, which is embellished with a splash of red. It also gets forged and anodised side frame plates with visible machining, gloss black engine with matte black aluminium belt covers and billet aluminium rear view mirrors. The bike rolls on gloss black forged lightweight alloy wheels which offer weight saving of over 2 kg.
As for the engine, a redesigned silencer layout and updated calibration have not only made it Euro 5 compliant but also given it a bump of 8 hp and 2 Nm, taking the overall output to 160 hp at 9,500 rpm and 127 Nm at 5,000 rpm.
PRESS RELEASE
XDiavel is a cruiser with Ducati genes; the result of the collaboration between two apparently distant universes. The relaxed pace at low speed typical of the Cruiser world and the adrenaline of Ducati’s own sporty riding both find space in this elegant, technological and fun bike.
For 2021 Ducati renews the XDiavel range by introducing two new versions: XDiavel Dark and XDiavel Black Star. In addition, all XDiavel models become Euro 5, gaining 8 hp and 0.2 kgm in maximum power and torque values, with a smoother performance delivery curve.
XDiavel Dark enhances the beauty of the Ducati cruiser shapes thanks to the essentiality of the matt black colour. On the XDiavel Dark, the total black livery has also been extended to the mechanical components, plates, and finishes, enhancing one of Ducati’s “Reduce to the Max” design principles. The XDiavel Dark represents purity, essentiality, and the gateway to the XDiavel world.
The new XDiavel Black Star version, on the other hand, shows enthusiasts the sporty side of the Ducati cruiser, with a livery and equipment inspired by the world of sports cars. The dedicated livery alternates matt grey and black with touches of red. The colour cuts are clear and intersect, taking up the concept of the X that characterizes the family. On this bike, no detail has been overlooked: the red engine head covers are a reminder of the 100% Ducati soul, while the seat, enriched with a high-grip suede fabric, recalls the sportiness of the brand.
