The all-new Toyota Harrier was recently launched in Japan. It’s finally built on the Toyota New Global Architecture (GA-K) platform and it has expanded in size quite a bit. With this Japanese launch comes a host of new Gazoo Racing parts for the premium SUV. These parts are all available from Toyota Racing Development’s website.
The branding conflict is a little bit confusing, but they’re both officially under Toyota anyway. And if it’s from TRD, it must mean these parts were developed extensively to not adversely affect NVH or aerodynamics.
The list of parts is pretty extensive, and it includes everything from bumpers to rims to visors.
As you can see, the GR Parts give the new Toyota Harrier a much more aggressive and sporty look. Most might not want to take their Harrier down that path and instead stick to its luxury roots. But from certain angles, this Gazoo Racing look kind of works for the Harrier. It’s just the red stripe decal that’s a bit of an eyesore. It only seems to work when the Harrier is finished in Sensual Red Mica.
Here’s what the Harrier looks like with this GR Parts kit in the White Pearl Crystal Shine, Black, Precious Pearl Black, Slate Grey Metallic, Sensual Red Mica, Steel Blonde Metallic and Dark Blue Mica.
Here’s a look at the body kit up close. There’s a more aggressive and angular front bumper lip, side skirts, and a rear bumper lip with quad exhausts and a diffuser. The kit also comes with little air intakes on the sides of the front bumper complete with little vortex generators.
The GR part list also includes visors, license plate holders, and a little spoiler. There’s also that red accent decal we mentioned earlier.
Functional equipment that’s hidden from view include GR Performance Dampers that were designed by Yamaha. These reduce the noise and vibration and improve the steering stability in high speeds.
These are the specially-designed rims that comes with this Harrier GR kit.
It also comes with a protective luggage mat and tinting for the rear windows.
Door handle guards in carbon fibre are optional. These prevent scuffing on the paint job. There’s also a foldable sun shade that fits the Harrier perfectly.
You can check out the official website for these parts here. We’re not too concerned if UMW Toyota brings these parts into Malaysia, as long as the car itself comes. The current generation model is exceptional as it is.
