Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors has announced revised prices on all Hyundai models, in line with the government’s PENJANA plan that sees a 100% sales tax exemption on locally-assembled (CKD) cars and 50% sales tax exemption on imported (CBU) cars.
However, HSDM says the sales tax exemption applies only to 2020 models, which means that models like the IONIQ, Tucson, Elantra and Starex will retain their current prices.
This leaves us with the fourth-generation Santa Fe, which is locally-built in Kulim, Kedah, and the i30N that was launched in Malaysia in November last year.
From now until 31 December 2020, prices for the SUV are reduced between RM4,914 to RM6,250 (2.85% to 2.92%), while the hot hatch gets a RM5,090 (1.7%) price reduction.
