Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) today launched the new Passat 2.0TSI Elegance, following its German market launch in September last year.
Refreshed exterior and interior, improved connectivity and updated lighting signatures are some of the highlights of the facelifted model.
Featuring a sharper and more dynamic appearance, the new Passat comes with redesigned front and rear profiles, new Passat lettering across the rear and 18-inch ‘Liverpool’ alloy wheels.
Inside, updates include newly-designed door trims, 30-colour ambient lighting, and a new leather multi-function steering wheel with a new ergonomic multifunction button.
There’s also a new and improved 11.7-inch Digital Cockpit with 2D and 3D graphic display for navigation and media, as well as a 9.2-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay.
As for comfor, thhe new Passat gets supple leather seats and 12-way driver electric seat as well as 3-zone Climatronic air-conditioning system for all passengers. New to the list is a power-operated roll up rear sunshades. A 586-litre boot space gives the passengers plenty of room for luggage.
Under the hood, there’s a new 2.0TSI turbocharged engine that produces 190 PS and 320 Nm of torque. Paired with a new and improved 7-speed wet clutch direct shift gearbox (DSG), the Passat offers a fuel consumption of approximately 6.5l/100 km, based on WLTP.
New safety features equipped in the Passat include Side Assist with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Monitoring System and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.
Other features such Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Brake Assist (BA), Intelligent Crash Response System (ICRS) as well as Hill-hold Control, Automatic Post-Collision Braking System and Proactive Passenger Protection System are present as well.
Priced at RM189,012 (on-the-road excluding insurance), the Passat 2.0TSI Elegance is available in six colours, namely Aquamarine Blue, Manganese Grey, Reflex Silver, Tamarind Brown, Deep Black and Onyx White.
