Should be in Malaysia soon.
Did you know there is a revised XE? Yes, the ‘baby’ Jaguar has been given a nip and tuck with some upgrades inside the cabin. At last weeks Singapore Motor Show, this 2020 Jaguar XE made an appearance with a sporty exterior, taking design cues from its F-Type sibling and an upgraded cabin tech system that brings it up to date with its German and French rivals.
The Jaguar XE was first introduced in Malaysia in January 2016 for RM340,000 and at the time its immediate rival Mercedes-Benz and BMW had plug-in hybrid models with tax concessions that gave them a big selling price advantage. This resulted in poor sales for the XE and this is why you do not see many units around our cities. Now in 2020 with no tax incentives for plug-in hybrids (PHEV), both BMW and Mercedes-Benz have stopped selling their PHEV cars and only petrol driven models bringing their asking prices on par with this Jaguar XE.
So, this is the best time for Jaguar Land Rover in Malaysia to revive the XE and give Malaysians a taste of British motoring.
PRESS RELEASE: The New Jaguar XE, Jaguar’s class-leading compact sports sedan, boasts a refreshed and enhanced exterior design, an all-new luxurious interior, advanced technologies and an upgraded powertrain.
Building on the beautifully judged proportions of the original car, the New XE’s sporting intent has been taken up a level, with contemporary design cues inspired by the F-TYPE sports car. New all-LED headlights with a striking ‘J’ blade daytime running light signature create a more purposeful look, and slender all-LED tail-lights with animated directional indicators and an updated signature light graphic complete the XE.
On the inside, the rotary controller dial is replaced by the F-TYPE inspired SportShift gear selector for a more dynamic driving experience. The beautifully-crafted all-new interior features extensive use of soft-touch materials, premium veneers and all-new door trims that improve usability and practicality.
The New XE is also the smartest and most connected yet. Jaguar’s Touch Pro Duo infotainment system, shared with the multi award-winning all-electric I-PACE, is available for the first time in the XE, delivering instinctive control through a pair of seamlessly integrated high-resolution touchscreens. The advanced first-in-segment ClearSight interior rear view mirror provides uninterrupted rearward visibility, and wireless mobile phone charging and clever Smart Settings technology make their first appearance in the XE.
With an upgraded powertrain of 250PS, the New XE achieves a century sprint within a mere 6.5 seconds, and is the most powerful car in the compact executive sedan class. Possessing all the attributes of a Jaguar sports car – lightweight construction, dynamic handling and exceptional performance, the XE is a true driver’s car. A Jaguar with envy as standard.
