Why can’t electric vehicles look like this?

Change your designs and see you sales numbers rise faster than ever!

My biggest issue with buying an Electric Vehicle (EV) until today is the way it looks. Yes, there are many of you out there who love the look of modern EV’s. The dolphin like profile of the Tesla, the upright stance of the BMW i3 or the rather modern hot hatch design that the Renault Zoe provides.

What can’t this be an electric vehicle?

With the standstill to 100km/h acceleration time of petrol powered supercars and the cabin that looks like a high-end smart ‘tablet’, current EV’s on sale are designed to excite a new generation of car owners and even some ‘fossil’ minded buyers like us.

This is the right way to produce an EV……….keep to its petrol sibling design and just tweak a little to show its EV status

Well, we just think that EV designers should look at keeping to current muscle car looks if they want to reach out to a wider audience. Remember, EV’s are not cheap to buy and it is mostly still the older car buyer that has the money to buy one and park it alongside their petrol driven cars in their garage.

Imagine the number of die-hard BMW fans who will want the return of this design but with a full electric powertrain underneath its classic design

We think EV’s should look like current hot selling petrol cars and just have the power-unit underneath their muscular profiles.

A true classic design can also have an electric powertrain.

Yes, many will argue that EV’s need to be sleek and aerodynamic to achieve long range driving, but let’s face the facts, modern petrol driven cars have been designed in wind tunnels to achieve the best aerodynamics and manufacturers try and get the best mileage from their vehicles in order to comply with market demands. So, these muscle cars already have pretty good aerodynamics which means the little extra battery juice they might sip on a drive is negligible.

Muscle cars with electric power will be coming to the next instalment of the ‘Fast & Furious’
They can call it the ‘Quick & Efficient’.

Yes, if you are driving an EV daily, you want to save on your mileage, but then petrol powered car owners are also trying to get the best fuel consumption when they drive. Right?

Then there are EV owner groups that say their EV’s should look futuristic and be totally different on the road to show the rest their quest to keep the earth greener and reduce carbon emissions. The whole climate change issue and more. So, why are you charging your car using electricity that comes from coal or diesel power?

Dodge Camaro
Imagine driving this daily with a full electric drivetrain.

You should then ONLY charge your EV at a solar powered car charger……right!
