How To Steal A NEW Ford Ranger Raptor

We have the tips ready for you.

On the 9thof October 2019, two days ago, 3 brand new Ford Ranger Raptors worth RM200,000 each at showroom level were stolen from a Ford dealership in Sungai Jelok, Kajang, Selangor.

According to new agency Bernama,“The five suspects were believed to have broken into the premises about 4am before driving away three Ford Ranger Raptor pick-up trucks.

Kajang police chief Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof said according to an eyewitness, a 47-year-old Pakistani security guard at the premises, the suspects had broken into the premises using machete.

“The suspects, armed with machetes, also tied up the security guard before fleeing with the three vehicles.

“The losses incurred is estimated at RM600,000 and the case is being investigated under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code for armed robbery,” he told Bernama today.

He said police were tracking down all the suspects and asked the public to contact any nearby police station or the investigating officer Inspector Hafizah Abdul Latiff at 016-6060955 if they have information on the incident.”

After hearing about the incident we visited the Sime Darby Ford showroom along Federal Highway in Selangor and spoke to the branch manager about the security features that was lacking in this incident.

Well, it seems that the Ford Kajang dealership is not under the Sime Darby group who have a very strict ‘standard operating procedure’ (SOP) when it comes to new vehicle keys. Here are the Sime Darby’s SOP for all their vehicle showrooms.

  1. All new car parked in the yard must be locked.
  2. The locked car keys are kept in a locked security box which is then placed in the branch managers locked room in a security safe.
  3. The showroom staff and security staff have no access to these keys.

Now, in a dealership like this one in Sungai Jelok which is under the SIANGHIN Group, they probably do not have a new car key safe keeping policy like Sime Darby’s and so stealing a brand new car or Raptor will be easy.

First, the showroom is located at Lot 2202-A, Jalan Sungai Jelok, Off Jalan Semenyih, Kajang, 43000 Selangor which is not in a prime business area.

Second, the new car keys are probably kept inside the showroom in salesman’s drawer or probably just hanging on the wall of the service center managers room.

The thieves just need to ‘whack’ the security guard into showing them where the keys are kept, open the front gate and just drive off into the night up north into Thailand where there are waiting buyers for the whole truck of just expensive spares.
