This collision occurred yesterday (4th August 2019) along the LDP, in front of Tractor Malaysia before the IOI Puchong flyover. You can watch the video here from the Facebook page Info Kemalangan & Bencana Malaysia, but be warned it has graphic content.
If you’d rather not watch the video, it appears the driver of a black Myvi was not paying attention. The cars in front of him had slowed to a stop he only sees this at the last second. He brakes hard and swerves right but collides with the car in front of his. At the same time, a biker on the rightmost lane runs right into the rear of the Myvi as it swings out.
Moments later two more riders (who appear to be wearing similar yellow t-shirts) collide into the Myvi as well. The last two are instantly able to get up and walk away from the wreckage despite the severity of the crash. It’s unknown how severe their injuries are.
Here are some images from the accident.
We’re not sure why the black Myvi driver was so slow to react. Many times, it’s because drivers are distracted by their smartphones while driving. If that’s the case here, you can see just how dangerous a second of not having your eyes on the road can be.
If you watched the dashcam video we linked above, you can also see that the 3rd motorbike rider to collide with the car was saved by his full-face biking helmet. Proper riding gear is important and can be the difference between life and death. Always get the best that you can afford and stay safe on the roads.
