The track-ready Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory has been officially launched in Malaysia by the brand’s local distributor, Didi Resources Sdn Bhd. This newest addition is Aprilia’s most powerful road-legal superbike and it goes head-to-head with the newly launched Ducati Panigale V4R.
Powering the RSV4 1100 Factory is a 1,078 cc, 65-degree V4 engine that churns out 217 hp at 13,200 rpm and 122 Nm of torque at 11,000 rpm, an increase of 16 hp and 7 Nm over the standard version.
For an exhilarating sound track, the engine is mated with an Akrapovic full system exhaust that is developed specifically for the model. Together with a lithium-ion battery by Bosch and forged aluminium alloy wheels, this helps the RSV4 1100 Factory to peg the weight at 199 kg.
To harness the extra power, Aprilia has equipped the bike with a dynamic controls package which comprises traction control (adjustable on the fly), wheelie control, launch control, pit limiter as well as cruise control. Quickshifter allows the rider to shift gears without closing the throttle and without using the clutch.
Not only that, the RSV4 1100 Factory also gets an advanced multimap Cornering ABS developed in collaboration with Bosch. The system has a specific algorithm that monitors various parameters such as lateral acceleration, front brake lever pressure, lean, pitch and yaw angle. Riders will have a choice of three riding modes, namely Sport, Track and Race.
Meanwhile, handling prowess is taken care of by Ohlins, which provides the bike with a TTX shock absorber, NIX front fork as well as a steering damper. A Brembo Stylema system ensures the bike has enough braking power.
The Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory is priced at RM159,900 excluding insurance, registration and road tax. It comes with a two-year warranty with unlimited mileage. Better yet, the first six units get the carbon fibre air scoops (worth RM4,000) with no additional cost.
