Yes, you must own the 911 Speedster in order to buy this exclusive watch, the Porsche Design 911 Speedster Chronograph which features a black case, carbon fiber dial with outer tachymeter scale and two sub-dials (30-minute and 12-hour totalizers), a date window, an an in-house Werk 01.200 movement with flyback function, meaning that you can instantaneously restart the chronograph to time, say, a new lap at the track.
The watch’s strap also features Porsche interior leather and red contrast stitching to match the new Speedster and buyers can also specify the strap to match their individual cars interior look.
Porsche Design sees the dial as the chronograph’s dashboard. Made of carbon fiber, it has displayed in matte black to avoid reflection, with green numbers and markers like the tachometer of the first 356.
Each watch comes with one black and one red leather easily-interchangeable straps in medium and large sizes.
The Heritage design versions are created to reflect the colors of the early Porsche race cars and feature green and silver Arabic numerals and golden accents, with a historic rotor design for the watch movement, and with cognac-colored leather strap.
Additionally, buyers can specify the color of their watch’s rotor to match that of their own Porsche’s wheels.
Porsche Design said the chronographs will be offered for sale in May 2019, with prices starting from USD12,911.
