Mercedes-Benz sure is pushing their SUV and crossover portfolio hard. The latest rumours suggest that the premium manufacturer will be unveiling an all-new nameplate, the ‘GLB’, to fill yet another gap in the market.
As the nomenclature suggests, the ‘GLB’ will probably fit in between the GLA and GLC models in terms of price and perceived value. With the new B-Class already shown, the GLB could very well end up as just a stylised version of the compact MPV.
But looking at the spy shots, the GLB will more likely be a baby G-Wagen, sort of like a premium German alternative to the new Suzuki Jimny. It might even debut as an AMG 35 car, which is all kinds of fantastic.
We will most likely find out what it is at Auto Shanghai 2019, which is happening in the middle of this month.
