After more than 100 years of building cars, The Cowley factory in England might be forced to close down due to Brexit. This is where BMW’s MINI is produced. Toyota has made a similar statement earlier this year with the gloom hanging over the Brexit as it runs 2 plants in England, one in Burnaston, in Derbyshire and the engine plant in Deeside. Toyota has about 3,200 workers in total at both plants and a move out of England will cost them in the short run only.
Cowley has been making cars since the early part of 1914 and William Morris was the person who started the manufacturing process after learning it from America.
