Aston Martin have been working on the Valkyrie for quite a while now. They’ve been talking about it since mid-2016 and we keep getting little hints about its performance but nothing concrete has dropped. Until now.
The British performance car maker just revealed that its doing some really amazing things with this car. It’s going to get a combined system output of 1160bhp and 900Nm of torque! That kind of power isn’t easy, so here’s a rundown of how they’re going to do it.
Cosworth has been allowed to go crazy with the 6.5-lire V12 engine. As previously reported, it’s going to be an extremely high-revving engine, producing its peak power at 10,500 rpm. The engine alone puts out 1,000bhp and 740Nm of torque @ 7,000rpm.
Utilising Formula 1 technologies like Power Boost and Kinetic Energy Recovery Systems, the electric motor pushes outs an additional 160bhp and 280Nm.
The motor itself was developed by Integral Powertrain Ltd, while the battery pack and hybrid components come from Rimac.
