Rivian has just announced that Amazon has invested an impressive USD700,000,000 with them. This huge investment comes after Rivian revealed their pick-up electric R1 and SUV electric R 1 S in November last year at the Los Angeles Auto Show. This partnership also puts Tesla Motors on alert as Rivian now has funds to start developing passenger cars and commercial vehicles.
Starting with a clean sheet, Rivian developed its vehicles to be adventurous and this was the center of every design and engineering decision. The company’s start-up products, the R1T and R1S is capable of delivering over 640km of electric only driving distance with autonomy and a combination of unrivaled performance with off-road ability and utility. Deliveries to customers are scheduled to begin in 2020.
