MINI have teased their upcoming JCW GP car. The last time MINI released a John Cooper Works GP kit was in 2006. Next year, we’re seeing a follow-up. The 2020 MINI John Cooper Works GP will put a lot of power into a very small machine once more. Expect its inline-4 turbocharged petrol engine to churn out 300hp thanks to MINI TwinPower Turbo technology.
Currently, the car is undergoing race track testing and that’s expected to go on well into 2019. The aim is to eventually exceed the predecessor’s 8 minutes, 23 second time at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife.
Only 3000 of these will be produced, that’s up from 2000 produced in the previous iteration. The new car will still sport pretty radical styling as hinted on MINI’s press site.
If you want a better look at what the bigger picture, here are the concept video and photos that might reflect what the car ends up looking like.
