The 2019 Geneva Motor Show hasn’t even begun and Lamborghini has revealed their latest convertible performance machine. The Huracán EVO Spyder LP 640-4 takes everything you loved about the Huracán EVO Coupe and takes a little off the top.
Just like the Huracán EVO which was revealed in January, this Spider model features a naturally-aspirated 5.2L V10 engine. It too has been tuned and modified for 640hp an 600Nm of torque, which gives the car a 325km/h top speed.
However, it’s 0.2 seconds slower from 0-100km/h compared to the coupe due to the added weight of its folding roof mechanism.
If you want to read more about what Lamborghini has done on these EVO models, there’s more information here and here. For now, we have to talk about that new roof. It’s a motorised soft top which can be operated at speeds of up to 50km/h.
With just a push of a button, the electrohydraulic mechanism lowers the whole thing, while two body-coloured fins rise up. They’ve fitted a duct between these fins to reduce turbulence at high speed.
Apparently, this model’s aerodynamic efficiency and downforce is more than five times greater than the original Huracán Spyder.
This is true whether their roofs are up or down.
Interestingly, Lamborghini are giving this Huracán EVO Spyder a newly developed hero colour called Verde Selvans. Here are some videos that may interest you. Bear in mind that a dedicated video from Lamborghini for the EVO Spyder has yet to be published.
Perhaps only after the motor show.
