Ford may have a long term plan to get out of the car market but for now, they’ve given us a new Focus ST. All-new, in fact.
This 4th generation Focus ST will be offered as both a 5-door hatchback and as a wagon. It’s built on the company’s new C2 architecture with performance parts going into the suspension, brakes and powertrain.
The 2.3-litre inline-4 EcoBoost engine here puts out 280PS and 12% more torque than before at 420Nm. 0-100km/h will be covered in less than 6 seconds. This engine benefits from anti-lag technology developed for the Ford GT and F-150 Raptor.
This new Focus ST is the first front-wheel drive vehicle to bring an electronic limited-slip differential (eLSD) to the table, giving it outstanding handling and stability.
You can have it with a good old fashioned 6-speed manual or a 7-speed automatic that has been geared for performance.
The automatic comes with Adaptive Shift Scheduling, a piece of technology that adjusts to YOUR driving style.
Additionally, this Focus ST will come with Selectable Drive Modes and Continuously Controlled Damping as standard.
The all-new Ford Focus ST is being made in Germany and will start rolling out in Q3 of this year.
