BMW Australia’s CEO has confirmed that this, the M140i Finale Edition, will be the last of rear-wheel drive compact hatch with an inline 6 that the company produces.
Given the car’s relative popularity in Australia, this particular trim is available exclusively for that market. Strangely enough, it only comes with an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
It costs a whole $3000 more than the standard M140i. Performance-wise, you get adaptive M suspension and M Sport brakes. Most of the other upgrades are cosmetic.
That includes a lot of blackened trim pieces (exhaust tips, kidney grille, rims). You also get a lot of equipment, such as a wireless charger, LED headlights, sunroof, keyless entry and go, a Harmon Kardon sound system and more.
