Volkswagen’s next generation Golf will feature a “technology revolution” in its cabin, the company’s chief of design has promised. The Mk8 car is due on sale by 2020. It will continue to be based on the current car’s MQB platform and will feature many of its same engines and some clever new features with higher technology.
As VW prepares to roll out hybrid technology, slim down the model line-up and completely revamp the interior design, the Golf Mk8 will have a mild hybrid version, next generation MirrorLink cabin entertainment, personal vehicle settings for up to 4 different drivers, a lighter body using clever steel and polymer composite body panels and the next generation DSG which will be 10-speed. More will be shared in the near future.
