Chinese electric automaker Nio has just unveiled its next showroom model which looks very much like a cross between the new Santa Fe and the X3.
Called the Nio ES6 it is a small-to-midsize crossover vehicle that is targeted to deliver a 258 miles range from its standard 70-kilowatt-hour battery, or 289 miles from a bigger 84-kwh battery, NEDC European driving cycle.
This ES6 performance model will use different front and rear motors: a 215-horsepower induction motor drives the front wheels to provide maximum efficiency under normal circumstances, and a 322-horsepower permanent magnet motor cuts in at the rear when the driver demands more power.
For now, there is no mention of a right hand drive version for the ASEAN market.
