Girard Perregaux has for some time been mainly known for their formal and dress watches as well as the famous ‘Tourbillon under three gold bridges‘ of 1884.
The new Sea Hawk collection reflects GP’s will to create advanced robust timepieces catching emotions. Even with its large massive case with shard edges, this black ceramic wristwatch is sexy. This new Sea Hawk is still highly recognizable and GP has succeeded in keeping the DNA of the original model.
Water-resistant to 300m, the 44 mm. asymmetric octagonal ceramic case is more scratch resistant than steel or titanium one. The rubber coated screw-down winding crown is located at 4, protected by a large crown guard. Sharp angles and oversized protection combined with the off-centered crown give the watch an unusual awesome look, radical and very sporty. The thickness is 18.90 mm, while the total weight is only 157grams. The uni-directionnal rotating ceramic bezel bears Arabic numerals in relief for decompression times. The case back is secured by 6 screws and embossed with the GP Sea Hawk Dragon logo in the middle. Under the anti-reflective sapphire crystal, a superb textured black dial with large raised round luminous dots, luminous hands, small second date and power reserve indicator. the dial is ‘deep’ and readable. Thanks to the large hands the visibility is excellent in the dark. The watch is powered by a mechanical, self-winding, caliber GP 03300-0074, 11’’’1/2 lines, frequency 28’800 alt/h with 27 jewels. The power reserve is approx. 46 hours.
