Triumph has officially unveiled the new Scrambler 1200 lineup, which consists of the XC and the XE. The former is built for real off-road riding fun, while the latter is the range-topping variant that takes things up a notch.
Both new Scramblers are powered by the latest generation Bonneville High Power 1,200 cc engine that delivers 90 PS at 7,400 rpm and 110 Nm of peak torque at a low 3,950 rpm. The charismatic 270° firing interval ensures a smooth, linear power delivery from the slick six-speed gearbox.
Delivering the Scrambler soundtrack is a beautifully crafted twin high level exhaust system with stainless steel headers and brushed stainless steel silencers for a deep punchy scrambler sound.
Both models feature new fully-adjustable twin-spring Öhlins rear suspension units with 250 mm of wheel travel for the XE and 200 mm for the XC. Piggy-back reservoirs are standard on both bikes.
There are also premium Brembo M50 radial monobloc calipers, folding foot controls which are adjustable on the XE model, and first-in-class tubeless tyres and spoked 21-inch inch front wheel.
Equipment-wise, the XC and XE come standard with Triumph’s latest generation full-colour TFT instruments, with a stylish design and two information layout design themes that can be personalised.
Both models feature Road, Rain, Off-Road, Sport and Rider-configurable riding modes which adjust the throttle response, ABS settings and traction control setting. The XE also features the ‘Off-Road Pro’ mode, which turns ABS and traction control off, and uses the ‘Off-Road’ throttle map.
Also exclusive on the XE is the Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) that supports the Optimised Cornering ABS and Traction Control.
Elsewhere, both bikes come with all LED lighting with daytime running lights, torque assist clutch, keyless ignition, heated grips, cruise control, navigation system, integrated GoPro control system as well as USB charging.
