Bentley recently revealed a sleek new Continental GT and its asking price sits close to RM2 million. Now last week BMW showed us their exceptional 8-Series Coupe with specifications that promises a drive that will be more than simply entertaining.
The Bentley is available for orders right now. The BMW 8-Series will take a few months to arrive in Malaysia.
Both luxury cars are crucial for the world of coupés right now. The Continental GT is basically a Volkswagen with all their bell and whistles added and the BMW, well is a 5-Series in a sleeker suit. The BMW 850i xDrive has all wheel drive with an 8-cylinder that will deliver a 0-100km/h sprint of just 3.6 seconds.
The Bentley rides on the latest VW MLB platform. The closest car to the new Continental GT is the 2018 Porsche Panamera which is part of the VW Group, just like the Bentley. As with the 8-Series, the Continental GT also runs an all wheel drive system, but it adds four-wheel steering to the mix as well. And, unlike the 8 Series, it is available only with the W12 engine. The 626-horsepower, 6-liter W12 is the latest evolution of the well-known Bentley engine which is used across the luxury car range.
So the question we ask Malaysians with available funds, which luxury super coupe would you buy? The Bentley or the BMW?
