While the importance of safe driving habits cannot be understated, the roadworthiness of vehicles on the roads is also an important aspect in reducing the number of casualties on Malaysian roads, particularly during the taxing journey home during festive seasons such as the Aidilfitri break.
Ir Azizul Azily Ahmad, General Manager Supply, Retail and Government & Public Affairs of BHPetrol said, “Promoting safe driving awareness especially during festive holidays has always been our Company priority to our customers. Through this campaign, we hope all travellers will take the opportunity to get their car inspected at our selected stations and ensure their cars are in safe good condition for ‘raya balik kampung’ journey to meet their loved ones.”
“Based on statistics from the Department of Statistics Malaysia in 2014, road accidents are among the top 5 causes of death among Malaysians”, said Chief Assistant District Officer, Aslynda Mohd Dahlan, representing Petaling District Officer, Roslinah Md Jani.
She added, “I urge everyone to work together in reducing road accident and fatality rates by obeying traffic rules. Ensure your vehicle is in a safe condition, through safety inspections such as the Car Care Week (CCW) program held today, before starting your long journey home.”
As at April 2018, 163,010 vehicles have benefited from the Car Care Week (CCW) campaign since it was initiated in 2014.
