Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP) today showed the 3rd generation Porsche Cayenne in Malaysia for the first time. This new Cayenne offers a wider range of standard equipment with the same emphasis on excellent performance and practicality.
Despite being a little longer, it’s actually 65kg lighter thanks to intelligent lightweight construction.
2 engine choices are planned for Malaysia, a 3-litre turbo V6 petrol with 340hp in the Cayenne and a 2.9-litre twin turbo V6 petrol with 440hp in the Cayenne S.
With the optional Sport Chrono Package, the Cayenne S is capable of a 0-100km/h time of less than 5 seconds.
The new Cayenne will take a lot of inspiration and technology from the iconic 911. For the first time, the SUV will feature mixed tyres (wider rear tyres vs front) and rear-axle steering.
In addition, its on-road capabilities are further improved by active all-wheel drive (Standard), Porsche 4D Chassis Control, three-chamber air suspension, and Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC).
The new Porsche Surface Coated Brakes are interesting. It’s designed to removed the tendency of dark brake dust from settling on the rims after heavy usage. It’s also got much better stopping power than the brakes found on the previous Cayenne.
The new Cayenne is now available for pre-order. To register your interest, the 3 Porsche Centres are located in Glenmarie, Sungai Besi and Penang. The cars that will be brought in should be specified to match the car we have photographed here.
