Nissan has a new model up its sleeve for early next year. After much speculation about the SUV’s name, from Paladin to now this confirmed ‘XTerra’ name will be launched for the Malaysian market after its introduction in China very soon.
Designed to challenge the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Everest and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, this Xterra and all the rest share their underpinnings with their respective pick-up siblings. The Xterra is based on the Navara’s underpinnings.
The grille and headlights follow Nissan’s current design language, while the large glasshouse with an upward sweeping theme can also seen on the brand’s SUVs, sold internationally. The rear of the Xterra sports a simpler design with horizontal tail-lamps and chrome trims on the tailgate. This seven-seat Nissan SUV is expected to be powered by the same diesel engine range as the Navara.
