Would You Pay an Extra RM600 for the New Yamaha NVX GP Edition?

Hong Leong Yamaha Motor (HLYM) has introduced the new NVX GP Edition, which comes with a livery inspired by the Movistar Yamaha MotoGP team.

Set to enter the market next week onwards, the NVX GP Edition comes with a premium of RM600 over the standard model. No mechanical changes here, so you’re basically getting the same bike with special colours and graphics.

The NVX is powered by a 155 cc single-cylinder Blue Core engine with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA). The engine churns out 14.8 hp at 8,000 rpm and 13.8 Nm of torque at 6,250 rpm, which is then routed to the rear wheel via a V-belt automatic transmission.

Equipment-wise, the scooter comes with LED headlight and taillight, a 5.8-inch digital display, a 25-litre underseat storage compartment as well as a mini storage compartment complete with an electric socket. Also included is a smart key system with keyless start function and immobilizer.

Complementing its power and sporty looks, the NVX is also equipped with a 26-mm front fork and a dual-shock suspension at the rear. The scooter rides on 110/80-14M/C 53P (front) and 140/70-14M/C 62P (rear) tubeless tyres, and gets front ABS as standard.
