Having made its debut at last year’s EICMA show in Milan, the new Ducati SuperSport has been officially launched in Malaysia. The sport tourer is offered here in two variants – the base model SuperSport and the SuperSport S.
Both versions feature the same 937 cc, twin-cylinder Testastretta 11-degree engine which delivers 113 hp at 9,000 rpm and 96.7 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm through a six-speed gearbox. There are three riding modes to choose from – Sport, Touring and Urban – and each mode can be customised to suit personal preferences.
Tipping the scales at 210 kg (wet), the SuperSport features a Trellis frame which is paired with a fully-adjustable 41 mm Marzocchi front fork and a Sachs rear shock with adjustable spring pre-load and rebound damping. Braking power is provided by two 320 mm Brembo discs with M4.32 calipers.
On the other hand, the SuperSport S comes with a fully-adjustable Ohlins suspension, up/down quickshifter as well as a rear seat cover. The latter is optionally available for the base SuperSport.
Equipment-wise, the SuperSport comes with LED daytime running lights, full-LCD instrument panel, adjustable Plexiglass windscreen, underseat USB port and Ducati Safety Pack comprising of ABS and traction control. The bike rides on Pirelli Diablo Ross III tyres measuring 120/70 ZR17 at the front and 180/55 ZR17 at the rear.
Both versions can be enhanced with the Sport, Touring and Urban packages, as well as individual accessories that are not included in the packages such as Akrapovic exhaust, titanium racing exhaust system, Ohlins steering damper, and a range of carbon and billet aluminium components.
Priced at RM80,899, the SuperSport is available in Ducati Red with red frame and matte black wheels. The SuperSport S, which carries a price tag of RM88,899, can be had in either Ducati Red with red frame and matte black wheels, or Star White Silk with red frame and red wheels.
