Not the first name you think of when looking for a watch and probably not even the last name…..as Braun is not famous for its timepieces.
Braun’s watches are stylish, affordable, and really good at keeping time. And since their introduction in the 1970s, they’ve been the standard bearer for a the kind of spare simplicity that helps them stand apart from the others on the market today.
Many of Braun’s timepieces lack complications and therefore they are less eye catching.
Here is a collaboration between Braun and the design site Dezeen. And while its deep blue colouring is a bold departure from the stark black, white, and stainless steel models the company has produced over the years, the basic shape and dial layout is not a new design. Braun for Dezeen actually joins a collection of reissued watches that are, “based on original designs created by German industrial designers Dieter Rams and Dietrich Lubs for Braun in the 1970s.”
Like the Dezeen partnership, it has a quartz movement and is water resistant to 5 ATM. It sells for just USD220 in limited edition release of just 250 watches and we dare say let 250 lucky people buy it before we decide to.
