Civic Sedan vs Hatch (Headroom and Bootspace Visual Comparison)

We do love our sedans, don’t we. There’s something that feels financially sound about buying a car with a usable boot. But there’s no denying that hatchbacks look sportier. And with the new Civic Type R only being made in hatchback form, we thought it would be interesting to put the rear passenger headroom and the boot space up for a comparison.

So here’s the Civic sedan.

And here’s the Civic Hatchback.

As for the boot, here’s the sedan’s cargo bay.

And this is the one on the hatch.

We didn’t go in there with a ruler, but it looks like the difference is negligible. In any case, we’re probably not going to see the hatchback EXCEPT in Type R form, so Civic buyers won’t have to make this decision. But in case you were curious, well, there’s your answer. Not much of a difference. In fact, the hatch looks like it’s easier to load.
