Boon Siew Honda has announced the addition of two new lightweight adventure bikes into its lineup – the 2017 CRF250L (RM24,378) and CRF250 Rally (RM28,618) . Both bikes will be available from all authorised BSH dealers starting from 29 August 2017.
The CRF250L and CRF250 Rally share the same 249 cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder DOHC engine which now comes with revised PGM-FI and throttle body, as well as a new airbox, connector tube and lightweight exhaust.
The mill churns out 24.4 hp at 8,500 rpm and 22.6 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm, which is then sent to the rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox. A primary balance shaft further reduces vibration while the gearbox and clutch are manufactured to cope with the extra stress of riding off-road.
The bikes also use the same 43-mm telescopic front fork and Prolink rear monoshock, 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels, floating front disc and ABS that can be switched off for the rear brake.
Both models have the same 1,445-mm wheelbase, but at 2,210 mm in length, 900 mm in width and 1,425 mm in height, the CRF250 Rally is bigger and taller than the CRF250L. The former also has a larger fuel tank (10.1 litres) as opposed the latter (7.8 litres).
Additionally, the Rally edition adds a windscreen, fairing and radiator shrouds, as well as an asymmetric dual LED headlights.
The CRF250L and CRF250 Rally come in a single colour option of Extreme Red with black and white accents.
