Cub Prix Resumes 2017 Season with Round 5 at MAEPS

After a month-long mid-season break for the Ramadhan festivities, the 2017 PETRONAS AAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship season will resume with Round 5 scheduled to be held at the Malaysian Agriculture Exposition Park (MAEPS) in Serdang this July 15 and 16.

This will be the third Cub Prix event to be hosted within the exposition park. The temporary circuit at MAEPS had often been touted as the ideal Cub Prix battle ground.

The upcoming race will see defending champion Kasma Daniel Kasmayuddin (PETRONAS Sprinta Yamaha Maju Motor) returning to take back the CP150 championship lead after missing out on the previous round due to a clash of schedules with the Spanish National Championship.

After four rounds of competition, Ahmad Afif Amran (PETRONAS Sprinta Yamaha-CKJ) has taken charge with 51 points at the top of the rankings table. Kasma’s absence from Round 4 had caused the young Johorian to slip down the ladder. Kasma is now second overall with 50 points. His senior team mate, Ahmad Fazli Sham is third with 40 points.

The CP115 spotlight will be trained firmly on Mohd Akid Aziz who is in the hunt for his fourth consecutive win of the year. The age-capped Wira category will be a straight out fight between two strong racing outfits – team PETRONAS Sprinta Yamaha-AFB Tech and Idemisu Kozi Yam Honda Racing.
