The new Yamaha MT-09 Tracer has been officially launched by Hong Leong Yamaha Motor (HLYM). The touring bike is the fourth Yamaha big bike to be locally assembled (CKD) after the XJ series, MT-07 and MT-09. It is also the flagship model in the MT lineup.
Based on the MT-09, the MT-09 Tracer shares the same six-speed transmission and 847 cc, three-cylinder engine that churns out 115 PS at 10,000 rpm and 87.5 Nm of torque at 8,500 rpm.
Tipping the scales at 190 kg (dry), the Tracer gets ABS and Traction Control System (TCS) as standard. The bike also comes with dual 298-mm discs up front and a single 245-mm disc at the rear.
The MT-09 Tracer is priced at RM52,000 (including GST, without insurance, road tax and registration) and will be available at authorised HLYM dealerships nationwide starting from next week. The bike comes with two colour options – Yamaha Blue and Matte Grey.
