Malaysians love road trips for a few reasons. The drive, stop, try and eat reason, the have a look at what we are missing in the city reason and the best of all….we want to explore the limits of our car reason. This is why many car clubs organize road trips to find food, interesting routes and learn more about their treasured possession, their cars.
Late last year, some ‘die-hard with a mission’ BMW owners got together to take a road trip to southern Thailand. Like all road trips, organization is important and you need the right person to lead with proper research and know how. This ‘right’ person was drive organizer Hisham, a BMW die-hard owner and all round car enthusiast.
With the assistance a few key sponsors and the Tourism Authority Thailand, Hisham and a few BMW owners took a 3400 kilometer drive to BMW’s Rayong assembly plant via Chumphon, Pattaya, Hua Hin and Hatyai with some foodie stopovers for good measure.
The drive was smooth, trouble free and with excitement thrown in for good measure and all the participants got back with their treasured BMW’s in one piece.
The drive trip was sponsored by Ravenol, BMW Malaysia, BMW Thailand, La Bodega, Turtle Wax, Toms sticker, Tourism Authority Thailand, X1R, Redbull and Millenium Auto Hatyai.
