For any fan of the motorcycle racing World Championship, attending a race weekend and soaking up the action and atmosphere is the ultimate motorsport experience. Six hyper motorsport enthusiasts were lucky enough to receive a unique and unprecedented opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of motorcycling with MICHELIN VIP hospitality experience at the Shell Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix 2016 held at Sepang International Circuit (SIC) recently.
Twenty-two year-old Johorian, Muhammad Hussaini bin Helmee and Muhammad Ikhmal Ibrahim of the same age from Klang Valley were among the six lucky winners of the MotoGP Digital Campaign organised by MICHELIN in Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia where participants were required to submit a picture of themselves with their motorcycle in the most creative way.
The aim of the campaign was to celebrate the return of Michelin to MotoGP and to increase its brand awareness in the high performance big bike segment.
The most recent 9th round was another successful one for MotoGP, with Jorge Dovizioso (Ducati Team) claiming the second MotoGP victory of his career which made him the record-breaking ninth different premier class winner in one season. Both Yamaha riders Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo secured second and third on the podium respectively.
A huge crowd of 95,316 – a record for Sepang – braved tough weather conditions and were treated to some very impressive racing throughout the day. The fans at trackside also witnessed Frenchman Johann Zarco sealing the Moto2™ title, which was an impressive way to sign-off his intermediate career before moving to MotoGP in 2017.
Not only were Muhammad Hussaini and Muhammad Ikhmal there to enjoy every breathtaking second of the racing, they got to see much more than the average visitors. As part of the all-expenses-paid hospitality package from Michelin, they were treated to the best available viewing area at the Paddock Club, gourmet dining experience, access to the main race paddock and visit of the Michelin tyre workshop.
They also received an exclusive tour of the team garage and access to the official MotoGP VIP Village, as well as meet-and-greet sessions with racers.
