“The new Fiesta will be our best expression of Ford lovable fun, sporty to drive and with an unmatched personality true to the spirit of the iconic small car that has delighted generations of customers for the past 40 years,” said Jim Farley, president of Ford of Europe.
This will be the 7th generation Fiesta and it will remain on Ford’s global B-sized platform but become more refined, with additional available safety systems, a more upscale interior and displays. In Europe, Ford may offer a luxurious Vignale variant of the next Fiesta.
Europe sales of the Fiesta have dropped this year to 6.9% through September but the model is still the region’s No. 4 seller after the VW Golf, VW Polo, and Renault Clio, according to data from JATO Dynamics of Europe. Ford builds the Fiesta in Germany, Mexico, Thailand, Vietnam, Venezuela, Taiwan and India.
