Artistic Malaysian children are invited by Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) to join 2017 Toyota Dream Car Art Contest, an international event which is in its 11 th year. The annual Toyota Dream Car Art Contest has seen increasing participation each year and in 2016, they came from no less than 885,375 entries from 81 different countries.
For the 2017 contest, the theme is ‘Your Dream Car’ and as in previous years, there are National-level contests first in which each country’s finalists are chosen. Winning entries will then be submitted automatically for the World Contest and during this phase, every submission will be judged by a panel consisting of TMC’s top management and art experts.
Deputy Chairman of UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd, Akio Takeyama said: “Advancement and innovativeness are vital to Toyota kaizen theory which advances and consistently improves our services with all our products. Through this creative challenge, we can showcase the children’s new thoughts and ideas to the world and hold onto them as our motivation for our future generations.”
“Malaysians have won a number of awards over the past 4 years that our country has been included in the Toyota Dream Car Art Contest. These include the special President Akio Toyoda Award which is a special award for a submission chosen by the TMC President himself. I hope that this year, participants from Malaysia will also achieve the same success at the World Contest in August next year,” said Datuk Ismet Suki, President of UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd.
Winners of the National Contest will win attractive prices and their entries will be submitted to compete at the world contest. Selected finalist will have a chance to win an all-expenses paid trip (with two guardians) to Japan to attend the awards ceremony.
Participation is divided into three categories: Category 1- Under 8 years old; Category 2- 8 to 11 years old; and Category 3 – 12 to 15 years old. Further information and entry forms can be obtained from Toyota Malaysia’s website toyota.com.my.
