December is the best month of the year to hear the sound of Munich machinery roaring along the open highway. Why? well it’s the school holidays and the BMW club members take the opportunity to drive away as much as possible to enjoy the open road and also to stretch the legs of their BMWs.
This time around the event was organized by the BMW Society Thailand and they decided that it will be fun to have the BMW Society Malaysia to come up to sunny Thailand for the event.
A total of 15 cars from the BMW Society Malaysia signed up and they were made up of various BMW vehicles of various generations, from classic 2 door rare BMW 2002Ti to 10-year-old diesel wonders.
The event in Thailand was called the ABCD and this stands for ‘All BMW Club Drag’.
The route took in some highway and some ‘fun’ roads and all 15 cars made it without a hitch as they were all using Grantt engine oil which was sponsored by UMW lubricants. The 15 cars arrived and the Chumphon Tourism Authority of Thailand hosted and all passengers of the 15 cars were treated to a welcome dinner.
In Bangkok, all passengers in the 15 cars were hosted to a dinner by the Bangkok Malaysian Tourism. The return journey was equally fun and with all carw arriving back in Kuala Lumpur safely without any incident.
The BMW Society Malaysia would like to thank the drive partners for this drive starting with BMW Malaysia, then La Bodega, Turtle Wax, X1R, Little Tree, Toms Stickers, Tourism Authority Thailand(TAT), Malaysian Tourism and finally F Tune. The main partner for this drive was Grantt Lubricant who gave very car 8-liters of their very best engine oil and all 15 cars used it and all 15 car owners found it to be very good for their BMWs.
