SYM Malaysia has officially launched its first fuel injected 125cc underbone, the new Sport Rider 125i. Malaysia is the first country in the world to welcome the new kapcai, which is expected to be another hit in the segment after the success of the Sport Bonus 115 and E Bonus 110.
With its modern sharp outlook, the Sport Rider 125i features a few unique design elements such as tubular framework à la naked bike, sporty muffler and rear fender. It is also equipped with a stylish LCD instrument panel for easy reading.
The Sport Riders 125i is Euro 3 compliant and comes with a two-valve SOHC engine that produces 9.5 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and 10.79 Nm torque at 5,500 rpm. Incorporating the latest electronic fuel injection technology (EFI), the engine offers better acceleration and better fuel consumption. The 107-kg bike also comes with a 4.2-litre fuel tank under the seat.
Braking is taken care of by hydraulic discs at the front and drum at the rear, with both attached to cast alloy wheels. The bright LED daytime running light and indicators ensure visibility in line with the Euro 4 regulations while the tubeless tyres reduce the chances of immediate deflation in case of puncture.
The seats for rider and pillion are designed separately to enhance the comfort level and safety of both passengers. There is a spacious and hassle-free storage space underneath the seat to store your personal belongings.
The new SYM Sport Rider 125i is offered with a special warranty of three-years or 30,000 km, and an engine warranty of one-year or 10,000 km. The bike retails for RM5,450 (without GST) and comes in three colours – red, blue and yellow. It will be available at all authorized SYM dealers nationwide from September 2016 onwards.
