Three years after its first introduction in Malaysia, the Honda 500 trio – the CBR500R, CB500F and CB500X – has been given some minor upgrades, which include newly designed LED headlamp and rear light.
The middleweight bikes are also equipped with a new adjustable front fork, a new front brake lever with five levels of adjustment, as well as a new sporty muffler design (CBR500R and CB500F only). In addition, fuel tank capacity has also improved from 15.7 litres to 16.7 litres for the CBR500R and CB500F, while the CB500X has a 17.5-litre tank.
All three feature a 471cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that develops 49.6 hp at 8,500 rpm and 44 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm, thanks to a square bore and stroke of 67 mm x 66.8 mm.
As for colours, the CBR500R is available in Red, Black and Tricolour, the CB500F in White while the CB500X in Red, Black and White. Introductory showroom prices (including GST) are shown in the table below:
The Honda 500 series also comes with a 2-year or 20,000-km factory warranty.
