Toyo Tyre Sales and Marketing Malaysia recently hosted a ‘Toyo Tires Defensive Driving Course’ for the Royal Malaysia Police at MAEPS, Serdang as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative for Malaysian Government enforcement agencies.
Dignitaries present were DCP Dato Aidi Bin Ismail , Deputy Director 1, Strategic and Resources Technology Department (StaRT) , Royal Malaysia Police, SAC Dato Mohd Hishamudin Bin Tahar, Principal Assistant Director (Transport) , Dept of Strategic and Resources Technology Department (StaRT) Royal Malaysia Police and Mr Peter Lim, Executive Director of Spanco Sdn Bhd. Toyo Tyre Sales and Marketing Malaysia were represented by Mr Kanji Kasai, chairman, Mr Tan Song Chye, president/managing director, Mr Teppei Shigeno, general manager, sales & marketing, Mr William Tan, sr manager, branding and Mr Mamoru Yamamoto, technical manager , Toyo Tyre & Rubber Co., Ltd. , Japan.
Personnel from the Royal Malaysia Police received intensive training both theory and practical. The practical training conducted by professional instructors consisted slalom, braking, skid control and lane changing training sessions. Toyo Nano Energy 3 tyres that were fitted on Proton Inspira and Proton Preve performed impressively as they were put through rigorous driving and braking manoeuvres.
At the completion of the Toyo Tires Defensive Driving Course, 65 Royal Malaysia Police personnel received their certificates handed out by DCP Dato Aidi Bin Ismail, SAC Dato Mohd Hishamudin Bin Tahar and Mr Kanji Kasai.
The Toyo Tires Defensive Driving Course series of events is one of the many CSR projects that Toyo Tyre Sales and Marketing Malaysia had conducted in the country. “CSR is an integral part of Toyo Tires and Toyo Tyre Sales and Marketing Malaysia’s corporate culture and strategy to drive progress in society “said Mr Kasai.
Last year, the company successfully conducted the inaugural Toyo Tires Defensive Driving Course for the Royal Customs Department, Immigration Department, Road Transport Department and Road Safety Department – and it was very well received.
