Luminox has just announced this new timepiece, the Dress Field 1830 series, the brand’s classic men’s stainless-steel timepiece combining rugged yet simple styling with a clean modern look that takes you seamlessly from the field to the boardroom.
Originating in the 1880’s, the field watch became popular during the First World War due to soldier’s demands for reliable and portable timepieces. The battlefield environment created the need for easy to read, exceptionally water and shock resistant watches and the Field watch evolved with a distinctive utilitarian style. Outdoor sports enthusiasts require the same features as soldiers, rugged watches with uncluttered, instantly-readable dials. Solid stainless steel cases and thick, strong leather straps make them a menswear staple – everyday gear that transitions easily from work to play, the office to outdoors.
These newest additions to the Field series feature a smaller 42mm (as opposed to the 45mm Atacama Field series) brushed stainless steel case, with a subtle dual texture metal dial and indices instead of numerals, on supple calfskin straps.
The Sapphire crystal has an anti-reflective coating for clearer visibility in sunlight and the trademark Luminox self-illuminating technology provides unmatched night visibility, 24/7 for up to 25 years.
