Boon Siew Honda today expands its model lineup with the launch of the new Honda RS150R. Going under the name of Supra GTR 150 in Indonesia and Winner 150 in Vietnam, the new model is also Honda’s first 150cc underbone motorcycle or ‘kapcai’.
According to the company, the RS150R is a premium ‘cub’ model positioned on top of the Wave Alpha and Wave Dash in terms of pricing. It will be available at all Boon Siew Honda authorised dealers this August with prices starting from RM8,213.94 to RM8,372.94 (including GST, without insurance).
The design of the RS150R is dominated by aggressive outline, sharp LED headlight as well as inner- and exoskeleton layer design. The chassis consists of a twin-tube frame that is matched with telescopic front fork and monoshock rear suspension.
It is powered by a 150cc single-cylinder DOHC engine that comes complete with liquid cooling system and PGM-FI (Programmed Fuel Injection). The unit churns out 15.6PS at 9,000 rpm and 13.5Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm – all sent to the rear wheel via a six-speed transmission.
Tipping the scales at 123kg, the new Honda RS150R also carries a 4.5-litre fuel tank and disc brakes at both ends. The ‘kapcai’ is offered in two variants and four colors – Metallic Red, Repsol livery, and Advance in Matte Blue and Matte Black.
