Ford today announced May sales in Malaysia were up 8 percent from April to 703 units.
The performance was driven by growing demand for the tough new Ford Ranger pickup, with May sales of the truck increasing 13 percent from April to 590 units. This represents the fourth consecutive month of sales growth for Ranger.
The ‘Built Ford Tough’ Ranger is the most powerful pickup truck in Malaysia, and features outstanding towing and payload capability, as well as a class-leading ability to wade through water up to 800mm deep. This is complemented by a suite of safe and smart technologies, including up to six airbags.
Sales of the new Ford Everest also kicked off in May. The large SUV features stunning off-road and on-road capabilities, advanced technology, and refined interior comfort for up to seven people. It is also the most powerful SUV in its class and comes with segment-leading safety features, including seven airbags, and was recently awarded a maximum 5-star safety rating by the ASEAN New Car Assessment Program (NCAP).
May also saw Ford and local distributor Sime Darby Auto Connexion hold a series of roadshows to showcase Ford’s refreshed vehicle lineup. The roadshows continue this month with stops at AEON Mall Klebang, Perak, Mydin Gong Badak, Terengganu, and Giant Mall Sandakan, Sabah. For further details, visit: www.ford.com.my/ford-roadshows
