A few months after its global debut, the new BMW G 310 R is now available for viewing at selected BMW showrooms from 27 May until 12 June.
Developed in collaboration with India’s TVS Motors, the G 310 R is powered by a 313 cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with four valves, two overhead camshafts and electronic fuel injection that develops 34 hp at 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm.
According to BMW, the engine has a backward-tilted cylinder in open-deck design with the cylinder head turned by 180 degrees, making it possible to position the intake tract at the front.
The bike that weighs 158.5 kg is built around a rigid tubular steel frame that is paired with an upside-down front fork and an aluminium rear swingarm with a spring strut. Braking power is provided by a 300 mm with a four-piston caliper at the front and a 240 mm disc with a two-piston caliper at the rear. ABS is equipped as standard.
