The all new Honda Civic has just been launched in Thailand in four variants, the 1.8E, 1.8 EL, 1.5 Turbo and 1.5 Turbo RS. The big question for Malaysian Civic enthusiasts is…..will we also be getting the Turbo RS model. The 1.8 models are powered by the familiar R18 engine that puts out 141 PS and 174 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the 1.5 liter Turbo VTEC engine with Earth Dreams technology has an output of 172 PS and 220 Nm of torque. All Thai-spec Civics are mated to a continuously variable transmission.
Like all Hondas sold in the ASEAN region, this all-new Civic will also have Modulo accessories on sale. It will include a selection of rear spoilers, alloy wheels, door visors, a chrome-finished exhaust tip and a body kit as pictured below.
For the ASEAN market, all variants will share the same interior like the Thai version. This Civic gets a one-piece soft-touch instrument panel with a new full-color TFT instrument panel and piano black finish and silver bezels on the center console. The 7-inch Display Audio Touchscreen provides advance Touch controls like wireless telephone connectivity via Bluetooth, and USB port that supports that support Apple CarPlay.
A Multi-Information Display is included with control buttons on the steering wheel. The 1.5 Turbo model gets some additional goodies like 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat, 4-way power adjustable front passenger’s seat and Honda Lane Watch. Remote Engine Start is included with an Electric Parking Brake (EPB), Auto Brake Hold, and Walk Away Auto Lock that automatically locks the car when the smart key is no longer in range.
