Fresh off their participation in the 24 Hours of Daytona in late January, Lamborghini Squadra Corse is ready to take up a new challenge: the 12 Hours of Sebring, another classic American endurance race which will take place in Florida from March 16-19.
To get ready for the race, the teams have brought on track the cars for an official test session in Sebring, which was attended by four of the six Lamborghini Huracan GTDs that will take part in the race.
The cars were lined up by three customer teams supported by Lamborghini Squadra Corse: Paul Miller Racing and Konrad Motorsport, which already participated in the 24 Hours of Daytona, and the brand new Dream Racing Team, directed by the Italian Formula 1 driver Enrico Bertaggia.
The #27 Huracan GTD of Dream Racing saw behind the wheel Paolo Ruberti, Lawrence DeGeorge, the Lamborghini GT3 factory driver Fabio Babini and the GT3 junior driver Cedric Sbirrazzuoli.
At the end of the testing, the teams received positive feedback from the cars, which were taken onto the track with a revised BoP (Balance of Performance), which involved the following changes: the use of 38mm FIA engine restrictors and a weight increase by 40kg of the Huracan GTD in comparison with the 24 Hours of Daytona.
During the four test sessions, divided into two days, all the drivers in GTD class were extremely close to each other in terms of lap times: sixteen cars were separated by a mere second during Practise 4.
