PROTON Edar launched the “It’s in the drive” nationwide campaign with a special ‘Test Drive & Win’ contest to the Malaysian public for the first time.
The campaign which begins today, is the start of PROTON Edar’s nationwide roadshows at key public locations and several shopping malls, from 23 January 2016 until 31 March 2016.
Selected winners for the contest will have a chance to win weekly prizes which include a 42” LCD TV, electronic gadgets such as mobile phones and iPad minis worth about RM150,000 in total. At the end of the contest, a selected winner will win the Proton Suprima S premium variant for the grand prize.
“PROTON has been a national carmaker for the last 30 years and we look forward to more years to come to remain relevant and contribute to the nation’s growth. Echoing our Chairman’s challenge to the public to “just come and test drive Proton cars”, this campaign is to create awareness of how Proton cars have evolved from the first Saga. The only way to know the difference is to take our cars for a test drive and at the same time, stand a chance to win prizes,” said Dato’ Abdul Harith Abdullah, Chief Executive Officer, PROTON Holdings Bhd.
The campaign kicks-off with a roadshow starting this weekend, 23 -24 January 2016 from 10am – 10pm at Setia City Convention Centre, Shah Alam. As a start, the campaign offers a 2.8% interest rate for all Proton cars and a special graduate scheme with monthly instalments from RM258 a month. Under the Loyalty Reward a rebate of up to RM3,000 offered to all existing Proton owners who wish to replace or buy another Proton vehicle. This special trade-in deal is only available to existing Proton owners where their old car can be traded-in for a new Proton car at a rebate of RM100 for each year of their current vehicle age. Adding further to the excitement, a discount of up to RM6,200 on selected 2015 new Proton models is also available. At the launch, defensive driving sessions are also carried out where customers are demonstrated a set of driving skills that will be useful in the prevention of collisions, identifying potential hazards and how to act in emergency situations.
“We have always emphasised that PROTON is not just about making cars and with this campaign, it is about experiencing the drive as well. We would like our customers to feel and experience the cars. It is the only way to understand the level of engineering that has been put into each Proton model that we have built,” added Dato’ Harith.
As part of the existing CNY safety campaign, Proton car owners are encouraged to take advantage of the free 30-point safety inspection and walk away with a special price for service packages for their scheduled inspection. Customers can also enjoy 30% on all Proton merchandise during the campaign period.
Malaysians with a valid IC and driving license are eligible to participate in the “Test Drive & Win” contest. This contest will be divided into two eligibility criteria. The first, where customers can head over to any PROTON showrooms nationwide and test drive any Proton models, fill in the test drive form, answer several simple questions and participants will then stand a chance to win a weekly prize. To be eligible to win the Grand Prize, customers who have successfully booked their car during this campaign can stand a chance to win the Suprima S.
