Volvo is well underway to making its big comeback with the all-new XC90’s receiving more orders than was estimated. The smaller sibling to the XC90, called the XC40 is also bound to be a big hit but very little is known about it as of now besides the fact that it will utilise the company’s Compact Modular Architecture (CMA).
Pictures of a test mule (with a V40 body mounted) recently surfaced which should give us a rough idea of how large the final product will be. Given the versatility of the CMA chassis, it’s likely we’ll see a more complete model sooner than later. Expect either 3 or 4 cylinder engines to be offered as well as plug-in hybrid and turbocharged Polestar variants.
